Abstract

In this study, Sabri Ülgener's Mentality and Religion Islam Sufism and Economic Ethics of the Dissolution Period are the subject of the study. The author's starting point in this work, who defines the concept of mentality in a sociological context, is to be able to reflect on how the institution of religion has an impact on the processes of social change and dissolution. The modernization, secularization, etc. experienced in this direction. in the face of processes, the main element that affects the way individuals and societies perceive and understand a number of events occurring in the outside world is the institution of religion or belief. According to the researcher who studies why the Ottoman society could not switch to a capitalist economic model, the Sufi understanding with a Western character has a worldview that transcends the life of the world and focuses on the afterlife.
